Job Summary
Provide telecommunication system support for medium to advance complexity solutions, including software administration, moves, adds, and changes. Access existing PBX Systems and provide current state configuration requirements to be translated for the migration to Unified Communications. Create documentation and act as Subject matter expert across several facilities. . Serve as liaison between the business and vendors and coordinates specific service delivery.

Experience:

Required:
8 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience supporting large PBX and voice mail systems required.

Desired:
4 years of experience supporting IVR Technology Preferred.
5 years of experience supporting a variety of Nortel Systems required
2 years of experience installing and supporting other PBX Platforms such as NEC or Rohlm preferred
2 years of experience installing and supporting call accounting software platforms.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in related business discipline or equivalent work experience required.

• Intermediate knowledge of MS Visio to create or modify wiring diagrams.


Desired:
• Cabling skills, including familiarity with cabling standards from ETSI, TIA and EIA as well as familiarity with the National Electric Code.
• Cross-platform telecom systems skills.
• Advance understanding of relevant metrics and analytics for telecom networks.
• Use and maintenance of advance installation tools.
• Knowledge of the advance concepts of telecommunications
• Ability to apply specialized communications methods and analytical techniques.
• Excellent abilities in the use Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

Essential Functions:

• Provide technical expertise for installation and maintenance of Telecom systems.
• Design, develop and consult on large complex enterprise solutions.
• Provides recommendation for improvements to enhance the technical capabilities of telecommunication systems and reduce operating costs.
• Plans installations by studying customer orders, plans, and technical specifications; ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools, assist in assessing installation site; assist vendor in preparing an installation diagram.
• Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications.
• Maintains telecommunication systems by troubleshooting and repairing outages; testing back-up procedures; updating documentation.
• Verifies service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
• Maintains safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.
• Maintains customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns; answering questions.
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Assisting in maintaining records and preparing required reports relevant to the operations of telecommunications.

• Develops innovative, cost effective solutions to diverse business projects.
• Attends a variety of in-service trainings and committee meetings for the purpose of providing and/or gathering information relating to job functions.
• Coordinates work assignments and schedules for the purpose of minimizing disruption of services and/or inconvenience.
• Maintains manual and electronic documents, files and records for the purpose of documenting activities, conveying information and/or providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail.
