Experience and Qualifications:
  • Must be proficient in the use of Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with critical path scheduling methods and techniques.
  • Should have a minimum of 10 years' experience as a project scheduler/project controls analyst in the engineering and construction fields.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills and abilities. 
Job Description
  • The Project Controls Specialist performs Project Control functions related to project life-cycle schedule planning, creation, execution, control, and maintenance for a single or multiple projects.
  • The general scope of this position includes, but is not limited to the following:
  • Assist Project Managers and the project team in effectively and proactively managing projects to ensure project success.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute project performance baselines.
  • Perform cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules utilizing Primavera P6.
  • Assists in development of recommended recovery measures for projects behind schedule and/or over budget.
  • Reviews schedules developed by others and advise project managers as to whether those schedules are logical, complete, and satisfy contract requirements.
  • Prepare detailed schedule reports as required (e.g., critical path view, baseline vs. actual, look ahead view, milestone view).
  • Prepare periodic schedule and associated cost forecasts and reports.
  • Support the Project Manager and project team in organizational and administrative activities.
  • Schedules and confirms natural gas deliveries to power generators, local distribution companies, and markets utilizing the most economical path via the web and electronic bulletin boards. 
  • Manages physical portfolio position and report to the trading floor to develop market strategies. 
  • Responsible for maintaining natural gas data in the gas/energy management system. 
  • Manages pipeline imbalances. 
  • Communicates pipeline operational conditions to the trading community. 
  • Verifies the accuracy of pipeline invoices. 
  • Assists the back office with the monthly closing and reconciliation processes.
  • Knowledge of current gas industry market conditions and understanding of physical and contractual parameters of assigned pipelines.
  • Ability to apply operational principles to variety of work situations/pipelines.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelors preferred
