Description: Participate in technical studies and evaluations of business requirements and technological alternatives, and recommends appropriate systems solutions. Provide direction and guidance to other programmers.
Responsible for the evaluation and implementation of complex applications with complex subsystems that may affect the entire system or multiple systems applications. Advise on methods to improve scalability.
Prepare communications, documentation and conducts classes on new system alternatives.
Consult and provide guidance to client and IT personnel.
  • Receive general supervision and is competent to work at the highest technical level of systems consulting while working on own most of the time.
  • Analyze and translate business requirements into AWD technical designs & configuration following established standards and best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate with Designers, Architects and testers to optimize the quality of integrated solutions involving AWD
  • Interface with other IT areas and business customer
  • Create and execute unit test plans
  • Support system and integration test efforts
  • Analyze and resolve code defects
  • Support deployment of AWD configurations
  • Develop resolution for complex AWD configuration problems (problem mgmt.)
  • Continuously expand technical knowledge
CONFIGURATION ANALYST:
  • Software App Design and Dev Knowledge
  • Understand and apply complex application design concepts
  • Evaluate effectiveness of design/development tools and processes and make recommendations for improvement
  • Understand software technologies and application hosting environments
  • Adapt designs to industry technology trends
TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION:
  • Develop effective and accurate technical documentation appropriate to various audiences
  • Document design changes using proper documentation process
  • Evaluate effectiveness of different technical documentation processes
  • Review technical documentation and ensure appropriateness for audienc
  • Effectively organize the technical documents in the repository
SKILLS:
  • 2 – 5 years' experience with DST's Automated Work Distributor (AWD 10.6) application including experience with processes (required) and workflow (optional)
  • 1 – 3 years' experience with SQL
  • Experience integrating AWD with web services is a plus
  • Business knowledge of retirement systems, products and solutions a plus
