Financial is looking for a talented individual to drive transformation in how solutions are delivered to our business as an Agile Project Manager. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about Agile, and can lead a culture and mindset shift at all levels of the organization that results in higher quality, faster time to market, and optimized cost performance. In this role, you will be responsible for managing highly complex and enterprise-wide delivery including planning, directing and coordinating large strategic projects and mid-sized programs from initiation through to implementation. You will partner with cross-functional teams to determine and interpret objectives into solutions and drive processes and execution, escalate impediments, manage risk, and promote continuous improvement. You will also be responsible for facilitating program / release level events such as release planning, inspect and adapt, and the Scrum of Scrums.
Accountable to business sponsor(s) and management to drive delivery of quality solutions tied to clearly understood business problem(s) and benefit(s) on-time, with quality, within scope and budget.
Work with product owner and business owners to assure alignment with strategy. Translate overall business vision and objectives into tactical strategies and executable plans, providing options where applicable.
Stand up new teams leveraging Agile methodology. Secure and maintain project resources and actively manage resource plan; direct other project managers, as needed.
Aggregate team objectives into Program / Work Stream / Release objectives. Facilitate program/work stream/release level processes and execution with management, domain and technical acumen.
Assist with economic decision making by facilitating project estimation throughout the project lifecycle. Tightly manage project budget, approved funding, forecasts and actuals.
Provide visibility into gaps, issues, risks, opportunities across scrum teams. Proactively head off impediments, manage risks, dependencies and resourcing needs.
Provide solutions to efficiently solve problems using critical thinking skills. Look for and champion opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency while delivering on commitments.
Organize and deliver status updates and other information exchange mechanisms for the senior leaders of the enterprise.
Play a key role in the build out and adoption of our Agile practice.
Manage vendor relationships as required.
Drive lessons learned and knowledge retention for future use.
Excellent communicator, both in written and verbal form. Listen and effectively communicate with clarity, precision and transparency. Previous experience working closely with Sr. leaders desired.
Naturally lead and command authority; influence and inspire across a matrixed organization (i.e. without control or positional authority)
Builds & maintains strong partnerships with business customers, teams, vendors at all levels.
Exercise independent and fair consensus-building skills when conflicts arise
Demonstrate team building skills by developing high performing project teams, setting a positive tone and leading by example
Hold self and project team accountable for outcome
Strong business acumen; Experience with Retirement Services preferred
Strong understanding of project and program management principles, and experience applying and leveraging Agile methodologies
Experience as Scrum Master with experience facilitating Agile, Scrum, or other rapid application development teams to deliver technology solutions on time, on budget, and with high quality.
KANBAN, Lean and Scaled Agile (SAFe) expertise preferred
Proven ability to apply industry leading project and program management skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, communications and presentations
Strong knowledge of project lifecycle. Effectively utilize current project planning, reporting and support tools (e.g. project management software).
May drive and/or develop business case, understand it thoroughly and continually monitor projects/programs against it to ensure benefit realization
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
5+ years relevant Program/Project Management experience
