Job Description:
  • Operate within a fast-paced environment to provide professional project schedule development services for Capital Projects within a Biotechnology industry.
  • Assist project managers with developing project schedules in compliance with the SSFP CAPEX Project Schedule Procedures and Standards.
  • Candidate must have expertise with industry best practices and techniques building compliant project schedules within MS Project.
The goal is to ensure more thorough and consistent project schedules that:
1) result in projects being completed successfully and on time, and
2) Feed into Portfolio managers and Principle scheduler that track progress of all project schedules against approved baselines and plan resources of all projects. The project scheduler may be required to incorporate project schedules developed by third-party vendors into a master project schedule.

Desired Skills:
The candidate requires knowledge and 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in:
  • Build schedules for multiple projects in Critical Path Method (CPM) and provide schedule updates and analysis in support of the multiple projects using MS Project 2007 or higher.
  • Assist project team members in driving project schedules through analysis of work plan alternatives,
  • (What If Scenario Analysis) re-sequencing of activities, workarounds and other related techniques as required.
  • Coordinate scheduling activities with the project team.
  • Interface with the project technical staff to define Schedule Basis and assumptions, Baseline and identification of variances from the original plan and baseline.
  • Creating status reports, near term forecasts, summary activity/milestone reports, critical path and ad-hoc reports and other related as needed project planning and control documentation and presentations etc.
  • Critical path analysis and methodology;
  • EVMS (Earned Value Management System) and project progress analysis.
  • Develop resource loading and Resource leveling project schedule
  • Performing project progress monitoring duties including identifying critical activities and reviewing forecasts with progress achieved to date.
  • Presenting to Project Managers the executive-level reports, presentations and deliverables that reflected risk and status.
  • Evaluating schedules submitted by third-party developers to ensure they are consistent with SSFP expectations and risk thresholds
  • Set up and attend as a key member periodical project schedule review meetings with PMs and team member to review and updated the project schedule.
Required Skills:
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (MS Projects, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong ability to partner with Project managers, Project Team members and Contractors.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of an organization
  • Bio-Technology and Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.

  • PMI PMP, PMI-SP or equivalent certification preferred
