Quality Engineer

Seeking a Senior Localization Test Engineer to work inside of our product groups testing our ecommerce platform's internationalization. In this role you will work alongside our development teams and play a pivotal role in defining the test strategy for each internationalized production deliverable. As an L10n Test Engineer you will provide guidance to developers in building more robust internationalization for our products and drive localization quality from inside development. You will be responsible for testing in parallel to international feature development with the goal of continuously increasing test automation. Ideal candidates will come from a strong technical background with a quality mind set, have the ability to understand highly complex architectures, define effective test strategies, and develop automated scripts that extend our automation frameworks and tools for internationalization. Candidates will not just be expected to continuously learn, adapt, test, and deploy new technologies to enable future international capabilities of our ecommerce platform, but also to have an interest in natural languages, linguistics and product globalization.
Responsibilities:
• Advocate for L10n test priorities within the development process
• Setup and maintain production-like test environments with regular code and language pack deployments
• Design, maintain and execute manual and automated test cases for L10n functional, API, and end-to-end tests
• Debug complex issues found in localized products
• Perform code reviews in Java
• Report and track defects, testing tasks, and release notes

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience as a web application test engineer
• Strong familiarity with testing Java applications, including code reviews
as well as good development skills in Java or a related language
• Experience with software internationalization and translations
• Proven experience planning, developing and collaborating on test automation frameworks and test suites
• Experience with UI automation tools such as Selenium

• Experience working with Continuous Integration systems
• Solid knowledge of various QA methodologies incl. planning, exploratory testing, defect reporting and troubleshooting.
• Strong root cause analysis skills
• Ability to review complex localization specifications with a focus on testability, test automation and quality improvements
• Passion for aligning localization quality goals to business goals
• Proven success working collaboratively within cross-functional and intercultural teams based on strong team spirit, solid work ethic and good communication
• MS or BS Computer Science or related degree
• Proficiency in at least one foreign language besides great communication skills in English, preferably Japanese, Mandarin or Korean

Nice-to-have:
• Experience with Agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban)
• Experience with Linux/Unix, Ant, Maven, GIT, Bitbucket and Web Services
