Business Overview:
The Enterprise Data Management Department was created in 2015 to setup, drive and continuously improve the way data is handled throughout the organization in the U.S. under the leadership of the CIB/IP Chief Data Officer. It looks to satisfy the requirements related to principles for effective enterprise data aggregation and reporting, and is intended to support evolving regulatory requirements. Specifically the team provides support to all other units within EDM (Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality) and also handles directly a number of projects.

The EDM Department has been established with the following 3 pillars:
  • Data Governance: set the framework for developing and formalizing the "know your data” culture including formal governance forums, data certification and attestation processes. The team also captures, challenges, and tests the control framework of the bank in particular through a risk-based data trace program.
  • Data Management: determine the data strategy for the platform with the objective of identifying and adopting golden sources, capturing and maintaining data glossaries and dictionaries, business and functional lineage from source to output as well as managing referential data
  • Data Quality: establish a framework to assess and report on the quality of the data used for reporting purposes and an effective remediation team

In addition the department is supported by the Transversal Business Support group that includes a Project Management Office and Tools & Processes teams aiming at defining the technology strategy for EDM and providing business analysis capabilities including process design and optimization.
Department Overview
The Transversal & Business Support Team is part of the overall Enterprise Data Management ( "EDM”) Department. It includes:
  • a PMO focused on handling project plans, budgets and managing our contribution to audits as well as transversal administrative functions such as procurement or internship program. It also includes
  • a Change Management practice in charge of establishing sound principles for managing changes to EDM as well as define standards for data change management.
  • A pool of business analysts / project managers under the Tools & Processes unit that supports all of the EDM pillars
  • A dedicated unit for managing the RaDAR program contributions and impact on the EDM deliverables so as to ensure alignment and quality delivery on the RaDAR objectives

Responsibilities
This role will report to Head of Change Management in the Transversal Business Support team and contribute to the successful delivery of the strategic Data Quality Improvement Program (DQIP) by coordinating data ownership and analysis efforts within the EDM pillars and contributing stakeholders from various business lines / source systems.

Responsibilities include:
  • Perform business analysis tasks with regards to the Data ownership / DQIP efforts with focus on timely delivery and resolution of hurdles
    • DQIP efforts include a.o. KDE analysis, functional lineage analysis, inventory of data input controls, documentation of data input controls assessment and gaps, remediation of critical gaps, assignment of ownership, establishment of reference framework etc.
  • Ensure timely escalation and coordination of remediation of risks and issues to avoid delays in the project plan milestones
  • Organize and participate in regular status meetings with objective to remediate risks and issues to avoid delays and bottlenecks on the DQIP initiatives
  • Challenge the quality of the information received with the objective of ensuring completeness of the collected information
  • Ensure document is stored on the knowledge management platform of the team

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree requirement, Master's preferred in Science, Finance or related field
  • 7 – 9 years' experience in Project management / Business Analysis in a financial institution
    • Prior proven experience as business analyst and project management
    • Minimum of 6 years of financial services industry experience
  • Self-directed individual with the ability to work autonomously and in a virtual team environment
  • Proficient in MS Office applications; MS Project, MS Visio, MS Power Point, MS Excel
  • Clearly conveys information and ideas while listening and responding appropriately to all stakeholders
  • Sense of curiosity, enthusiasm and eagerness to understand business constraints, environment and impact on regulation for the financial industry
  • Good time management and organization skills
