Software Engineer's that join our Technologies team can be assigned to one of several exciting teams that are developing new virtual Internet-based payment solutions, customer service portals, online merchant services support and integration, credit management tools, and suites of web-based applications for card member targeted offers that will span over 20 international markets.

You will be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial team responsible for delivering world-class card member experiences across multiple channels, including native iOS, Android, web, social integration, Java services, and APIs. You will be challenged with identifying innovative ideas and proof of concept to deliver against the existing and future needs of our customers.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all technical aspects of software development for assigned applications performs hands-on architecture, design and development of systems
  • Mentors and manages a team of engineers
  • Functions as a senior member of an Agile/iterative development team, implementing consistent development practices tools and common components Identifies and proposes solutions to help simplify tie-ins with other systems and platforms within the supported domains
  • Contributes to blueprint and assists Product Owners with annual planning of feature sets that impact multiple platforms
  • Splits time between writing code and testing, in support of product/platform release sprints
  • Identifies opportunities to adopt innovative technologies
  • Embodies "rebel with a cause mentality by looking beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Global Cardmember Remittance team is responsible for the processing of Client cardmember payments across the globe, including the clearing and settlement with client preferred financial institutions

This high energy Senior Engineer must have:
  • BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of software development experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile or other rapid application development methods
  • Experience managing entry level engineers
  • Strong experience in designing highly performance systems using industry best practices, tools and technologies like caching products (e.g. Memcached, MongoDB, Redis etc)
  • Experience with implementing integrated automated release management using tools/technologies/frameworks like Maven, Subversion, code/security review tools
  • Ability to effectively communicate across 3rd parties, technical and business product managers on solution design
  • Ability to think abstractly and deal with ambiguous/under-defined problems
  • Ability to enable business capabilities through innovation
    Looks proactively beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities
  • High energy, demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies, and takes pride in how fast they develop working software
  • Advanced experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, message queuing, and relational databases
  • Demonstrated experience with object-oriented design and coding with variety of languages
Technical skill set required:
  • Minimum 5 year experience with Payments Processing systems
  • In depth knowledge of Payment Processing in a Financial Services / Banking environment and NACHA Experience with Global Payment Processing (GPP) and/or Clearing Works is desirable
  • Worked in and/or Experience with Payment Services Hub (PSH) is desirable
  • Experience with Infrastructure maintenance and support, with experience in UNIX, DB2 8.2/9.1, IBM Websphere MQ5.3/6.1, IBM Websphere Application Server5.1/6.1, VMware ESX 3.5/4.0, db2client, IBM zLinux, IBM DataPower, Linux OS etc.
