The experienced Predictive Analytics Analyst ( "PAA ) will be responsible for extracting knowledge and insight from data, including both internal and external 3rd party data. The ideal candidate will have a passion for identifying and answering questions that help us run the business more efficiently. He/she will work closely with subject-matter experts and business analysts, and will investigate statistical and predictive patterns in the data. The PAA will explore and examine data from multiple disparate sources. He/she will sift through the incoming data with the goal of discovering previously hidden insights, which in turn can provide a competitive advantage or address a pressing business problem. The PAA will not simply collect and report on data, but also looks at it from many angles, interpret the meaning, and then recommend ways to apply the data.

Primary Duties

  • Work closely with business team to identify and answer important business questions by using appropriate statistical techniques on available data
  • Communicate findings to product managers, business analysts and divisional managers
  • Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources
  • Analyze and interpret the results of data experiments
  • Make iterative changes to analytic/predictive models and decision logic embedded in operational applications and business process platforms

  • Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches, algorithms and processes.
  • Advanced Analytics; needs experience actually building and deploying predictive models
  • Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
  • Expert knowledge of an analysis tools such as SAP Lumira & SAP/KXEN and SAS
  • Experience working with large data sets, experience working with distributed computing tools a plus (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, etc.)
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years' experience
  • Experience with RDBMS packages (Oracle, DB2, Teradata, MS-SQL, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data integration processes
  • Knowledge of commercial data mining and statistics software (such as SAS)
  • Superior communication and presentation skills
