* Conduct in vitro studies of pre-clinical antibacterial compounds and/or marketed antibacterial agents in the Client portfolio. Studies will include antimicrobial susceptibility testing of lead compounds and comparator agents against clinical and characterized bacterial isolates, determination of the spectrum of activity of lead compounds, assessment of bactericidal activity by time-kill, antibiotic synergy analyses, assessment of postantibiotic and sub-MIC effects, and resistance selection studies including molecular characterization of mechanisms of resistance
* Work closely with the Laboratory Manager and the team at Client, Inc. in study design, execution and data analysis
* Maintain written and electronic records and carefully document laboratory studies and summarize key findings
* Comply with all applicable Client safety and regulatory policies

* Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work as a member of a team
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document laboratory studies and to report key findings to colleagues at Client
* Familiarity with database programs, Excel, and Word

* Education: Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related discipline with 1 to 5 years' experience in laboratory research in an area relevant to anti-infective drug development; the final job title will be commensurate with the candidate's experience
*Previous experience conducting bacteriological studies, with a preference for experience evaluating Client antibacterial compounds in a pharmaceutical or academic research setting, is desired
