Under the director of the Nurse Practitioner focuses on the prevention and treatment of stress, injuries or illnesses derived from the work environment. Care for patients directly and work as educator and researcher. Maintain safe workplace conditions by educating workers on personal health issues and a company's safety policies. Observe current business practices related to the handling of hazardous materials and maintaining health and safety standards. Make recommendations that can make the workplace and its standard operating procedures safer for employees increasing employee retention, as well as reduced worker's compensation claims.
• Report to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS with oversight from Nurse Practitioner(NP)
• Assist the Nurse Practitioner with patient care needs and tasks
• Record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history
• Give instructions to patients as instructed by NP
• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies
• Scheduling of patient appointments
• Administer injections and medication under direction of NP
• Take phone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/NP/pharmacy calls
• Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, and emergency medical bags
• Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
• Document patient data in electronic medical database(s), as applicable per standard protocols
• Assist NP with clinical operations, including medical surveillance and OSHA recordkeeping
• Assist NP with Workers' Compensation and ADA requests. Assist in the interactive process for short/long term disability cases, including FMLA claims
• All other duties as assigned
