R&D Technician - Entry Level

Responsibility - The Food Technician/Technologist acts as a key member of the R&D team, working at the General Mills Technology Centers. Our Technicians work in a variety of potential areas, from new product development, established product improvement, new technology and cost savings. Working in partnership with food scientists or engineers, the technician will be responsible for
- Creating prototype samples
- Leading and executing bench top and pilot plant experimentation.
- Coordinating and conducting plant tests
- Coordinating and supporting consumer tests
- Managing analytical, shelf-life and sensory evaluation.
- Analyzing experimental data and extract learning
- Creating product specifications and documentation
- Interacting with suppliers and external partners.
- Connecting and collaborating within cross functional teams.

The position may require occasional travel to the plants and suppliers; expected travel about 10 %. This position may require travel between research buildings during the work day.
This is a non-exempt temporary position (eligible for overtime) with opportunity to become permanent.

Qualifications - Technical College Degree ( preferred Foods Science or Culinary Art Science).
Entry Level: 1-3 yrs experience.
