Project Manager, Pharmaceutical – Scientific / R & D Laboratory.
Description
A Project Manager supporting Translational Medicine projects associated with the drug development portfolio. The incumbent would utilize a variety of project management tools to provide oversight and management of the book of work from project requests through triage and approval.
Responsibilities include:
  1. Communicating project approvals and prioritization, in collaboration with the Leadership Team.
  2. Working closely with the Planning and Execution Leads and with the Team Leaders to ensure complete and accurate project budgets and consistent methodology is utilized for tracking.
  3. Ensures optimal execution against the planned spend and works with Business Operations and Finance to develop the overall project budget.
  4. Maintain project timelines captured in the book of work and is responsible for communicating changes to the approved plan.
  5. Work closely with the scientists and other leaders across teams, and contributes input to the clinicals team for assay development, molecular epidemiology, and other research-related activities with other internal stakeholders.
  6. Contributes to define the vision, the target test profile, the key claims portfolio and the platform strategy, the overall development strategy and plan based on commercial/consumer and regulatory requirements that overall lead to a diagnostic test.
  7. Drive and steer the implementation of the Program's strategic plan in close collaboration with the Leads and other area team within the accepted timelines, budgets and resources at the required quality level.
  8. Work on operational governance bodies, technology for reporting, capturing costs & utilizations and other ad hoc initiatives.
Qualifications
A MS, MBA, with 10 or more years, a PhD, PharmD with 7 or more years or other advanced degree in a physical or natural science experience in the pharmaceutical industry in areas such as biology, clinical development, pharmaceutical development, or chemistry. This position requires an understanding of both scientific as well as efficient resource utilization in a multi-project environment. In addition, familiarity with drug development, biomarkers and excellent oral and written skills. PMP certification is desirable.
