Quality Control Technician - Carson

This is a temporary position within our Quality and Regulatory Operations Department for a Marathon Technician. This Temporary Marathon Technician will provide quality and food safety support for the packaging lines undergoing extended run qualification.

In this role you will:
Provide on-the-floor auditing and technical expertise to ensure the food safety, regulatory compliance and quality of all yogurt products produced by the Carson manufacturing facility.
• Collect and test samples of incoming goods, in-process materials, finished goods and processing environment. Testing will be using prescribed methodology and will include physical, chemical and microbiological analysis.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment in lab and process areas.

12 hour shifts
(2) 6am – 6:30pm
(2) 6pm – 6:30am
3-2-2 schedule (work 3-off 2-work 2 – off 3)

• Perform quality audits on manufacturing processes and procedures including GMP's, HACCP and other safety/quality documentation.
• Periodic visual inspections of process and packaging systems.
• Provide technical leadership for operations through strong floor presence.
• Communicate quality issues with Operations, Quality Engineers and Quality Manager on a regular basis.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Eligibility and Requirements:
• Ability to work overtime, as needed
• Proficient in Microsoft Office communication (emails & calendar management) and has basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Highest integrity and standards with a commitment to safety.
• Demonstrated problem solving, decision-making and conflict management skills.
• Must work well in a team setting and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, fingers, arms, hearing, vision and sensory ability (taste/smell). The employee is frequently required to walk, climb, crouch, balance, and reach as necessary, and may be regularly exposed to a cold and wet environment. The employee must regularly be able to lift up to 25 pounds and continually lift less than 25 lbs.
