This person will be a liaison between the Scientific Operations – Lab Operations team and scientific functions with direct interaction with Facility Operations, Health, Safety & Environment and Finance. This person will be responsible for inventory management, managing equipment moves, providing general lab support support to researchers in various scientific functions.

We are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Operations Specialist to join Scientific Operations at the Client Institute for Biomedical Research in Cambridge, MA. The Laboratory Operations Specialist will join a dynamic team that supports laboratory operations for many scientific departments across campus. The successful candidate must be organized, self-directed and an excellent communicator who can handle a variety of tasks in a matrix environment. This individual must develop and maintain strong relationships with the various NIBR operations departments as well as the scientists they support. This includes alignment and execution of objectives. The ability to work in cross-functional teams along with strong organizational skills and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.

BS in a scientific discipline with 3 to 5 years experience working in a lab is required. A strong understanding of the processes and requirements needed in a research organization is required. Must display excellent people skills and be able to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment. The ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment to solve problems is important. Excellent computer skills, proficiency in Excel is required.
