Primary Responsibility: 
Responsible for large and significant projects or programs where scope is subject to change.  There is a high degree of risk.  Project objectives address complex business opportunities.


Knowledge/Skills/Ability
  • Advanced understanding of project management principles.
  • Moderate understanding of vendor management/procurement principles.
  • Extensive application of accepted project lifecycle/methodology.
  • Ability to successfully work across all levels of the organization,  manage vendor relationships,  project planning and support tools such as MS Project, Project Workbench, MS Office.  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, monitor progress and status of deliverables and communicate appropriately.
  • Ability to capture status updates using the appropriate tools and  communicate impact of status changes to overall project plan/progress.
  • Ability to identify potential areas of improvement for team members and influence decisions with a degree of critical thinking and with a grasp of the strategic intent of the project.
  • Proven accountability for, and successful delivery of, complex projects and demonstrated delivery of service meeting customer expectations.
  • Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation, human relations, and organization skills. Intuitive ability to balance scope, tasks, schedule, quality, resources, and budget.
  • Strong demonstrated performance of accepted project lifecycle practices/methodology. Strong understanding of the business and related technology needs.
  • Manage large, complex projects and significant projects or programs and provide program management for initiatives of large scope; develop and define program strategy and approach.
  • Define the project from a business need and create momentum and acceptance for the project; create an environment and a process by which the project will be successfully delivered.
  • Enhance and embrace accepted project management methods, procedures and quality objectives; ensure adherence at a sub-team level.
  • Develop and establish project processes and controls for scope, budget, risk, and issues for all project activities ensuring all aspects of the project are delivered according to the overall project or program plan. 
  • Manage the competing needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Manage matrixes resources and related relationships within each functional area. Participate in or influence solution partner selection.
  • Manage expectations and ensure all project expectations and quality standards are adhered to and that there is a balance and integration of all delivery components: strategy, process, people, technology, data and application.
  • Assess and manage project variances (e.g. budget variance); evaluate impacts to overall project commitments, evaluate and present options, and implement approved changes. Maintain accountability for the communications/ interactions needed to ensure that the technology aligns with the business strategy and that the project will deliver the expected value. Communicate appropriately and influence leadership to execute against the short and long term objectives necessary to achieve IT and business strategic goals.
