PM with Group Insurance (Disability or Life) experience

This role will support senior leaders through the project management of business initiatives. Performs budget and expense analysis and manages planning framework. Coordinates strategic, tactical and business financial plans across a business units and/or functional department areas. Develops and maintains all project documentation such as statement of work, project plan, communication plans and issues list, risk register, meeting documentation, and status reports including lessons learned; develop other documents as requested (i.e., business case, business requirements). Create project plans, and manage timely completion of project deliverables including but not limited to, identification of initial business issue and scope, development and maintenance of project tools (e.g., project plans), tracking of issues through resolution, develop recommendations for critical decisions and development of all project communications. May perform other project management activities.
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead / facilitate and monitor projects and related work across multiple efforts, across multiple functions in the support of the Disability (DI) 360 Transformation
  • Attend relevant cross-functional initiative meetings with the objective of ensuring appropriate focus is being made on caring for DI 360 Transformation
  • As required develop project plans for specific transformation efforts
  • Report out status to the DI 360 Transformation Team on progress across the assigned efforts
  • Complete ad hoc assessments (operational and financial) in partnership with the functional areas as needed
  • Ability to identify and communicate complex issues and work with management on problem resolution
  • Engage with GI PMO, Process Team and GI community to support consistent best practices and leverage lessons learned to increase overall capabilities and drive consistency in outcomes.
  • Strong Project Management capabilities and experience, PMP preferred
  • Flexibility to work in a highly matrixed environment on multiple efforts at once that will vary in duration and scale
  • Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills, ability to engage and facilitate large group discussions
  • Flexibility to lead as well as support efforts depending upon the transformation needs
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Product & Operational knowledge preferred
  • Works well under pressure
  • Solid MS Office knowledge with intermediate to advanced MS Projects
  • Process management or improvement experience is a plus
  • 5 to 7 years of similar experiences in Group Insurance particularly Disability or Life is a plus
