Job Description
  • Network Operations Technician will receive, analyze, monitor and resolve network problems in a timely fashion with minimal guidance from more senior technicians or supervisor. 
  • Responsibilities will include opening trouble tickets for various customers, answering incoming telephone calls, responding to network alarms and customer emails, and documenting/updating customer account data.
  • Responsibilities will include trouble ticket resolution in a network service assurance environment. answering incoming telephone calls, segmentation of backhaul network technologies that are Ethernet centric and documenting/updating incident reports. .
  • Candidate will be responsible for TDM, Ethernet, and, Microwave maintenance activities supporting the wire line and wireless networks; and, should possess a strong understanding of internal and external network infrastructure for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Candidate will serve as a contact on technical and service related problems for the diagnosis and repair of access network service failures and coordinate problem-solving efforts with the Local Exchange Carriers (LEC), customer vendors, and, field service personnel. 
Qualification and other details:
  • Education:  High school or equiv. plus 2 years formal electronics training or equivalent knowledge through experience.
  • Associates Degree in related field preferred.  Minimum 2 years related telecommunications experience or 1 year as NOS with satisfactory or better performance.
  • Industry certifications, related experience in the military and physical line or protocol experience is preferred. 
  • Basic knowledge of UNIX operating system is a plus.  Additional Requirements: Microsoft Office software suite...emphasis in both Excel and Outlook.  Position may require shift work based on days of the week or hours. 
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without any sponsorship now or in future.
  • Candidate must be efficient at multi-tasking and be able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Strong problem resolution skills are also required. The candidate must also be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication practices.                                                                                                                                 
  • **Candidate will also need to be flexible and be able to work on any shift of a 24x7x365 staffing model.
  • Available shifts are Day shift ( 7am to 3:30 pm EST ) and Swing Shift ( 3pm to 11:30pm EST) Mid shift (11pm to 7:30am EST)
  • First 4 to 6 weeks on days for training and OJT, he/she would then move to an assign shift (days/swings/mids) based off business needs; so the candidate will need to be flexible. They would then rotate between a M-F, Sun-THUR or TUES- SAT. ; which rotates every 3 months.
