Job Description:
  • Performs professional entry level analytical work in key functional areas, with a focus on collecting sales and revenue data;
  • guiding cost analysis process by applying policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques;
  • developing recommending actions; reconciling transactions by comparing and correcting sales transaction data;
  • maintaining database by entering, verifying, and backing up data; recommending actions by analyzing and interpreting data and conducting comparative analyses;
  • studying proposed changes in methods and materials; and keeping financial information confidential. Conducts reconciliation of sales transactions and revenue receipts;
  • analyzes cost, revenue and operating expenses;
  • develops and maintains monthly revenue/account funds reports; prepares and justifies the financial reports for the Surplus Sales Program.
  • Prepare monthly data reporting packages that includes analysis of key business trends and actual versus plan variances, including comprehensive explanations of differences as well as the impact of business drivers to budget/forecast.
  • Performs designated segments of projects with well-defined objectives, to include data collection, synthesis of data gathered to support analysis, and documentation of findings and recommendations; assists in implementing business improvements, such as changes to policies, work practices, processes and procedures;
  • Assists with measuring and analyzing indicators of performance, quality, quantity and efficiency of services;
  • compiles and provides business information to management; contributes to position papers, evaluation reports and presentations.
  • Formats data sets and performs qualitative and descriptive statistical analysis to aggregate and assimilate data for displaying potential patterns and trends.
Skills Required
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques relating to the functional area of business operation (e.g. financial management, contract administration and management);
  • Knowledge of fact-finding techniques and ability to perform a variety of information gathering in support of assigned projects;
  • Ability to interpret automated financial reports and financial policies and procedures to analyze revenue and expenses and make projections; and identify possible solutions for solving business problems. Ability to aggregate and assimilate data to identify major patterns, trends and themes regarding program effectiveness and efficiency;
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and use word processing and presentation software to prepare documents, and to use spreadsheet and statistical analysis software packages to store, manipulate, analyze and present data; and expert Excel skills required.
Experience Required
  • 2-5+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles
  • Education Required Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in the field related to the assigned functional area i.e., Business Administration,
  • Finance or Accounting; 2-5+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles
