Software Asset Manager III

The Software Asset Manager is a proven leader who has extensive experience in asset management. The candidate will have the ability to lead a team in defining process and tool enhancements for the Software Asset Management system. Additionally, this candidate will need to coordinate with teams to successfully drive results. Software Asset Management is a business practice that involves managing the inventory of software within an organization. Software Asset Management technologies track license expiration, thus allowing the company to function ethically and within software compliance regulations. This can be important for both eliminating legal costs associated with license agreement violations and as part of a company's reputation management strategy. Both are important forms of risk management and are critical for large corporations' long-term business strategies.

Job Responsibilities
This position will be accountable for Software Asset Management.
 Maintain IT Software Asset Management repositories (e.g. ServiceNow)
 Collaborate with Procure2Pay on new ServiceNow Software requests to clarify/concur on software purchases and resolve issues
 Collaborate with application/server owners and FOMs/FOT’s on software access/installation/licensing/catalog/keys, etc.
 Review all software procurements routed to SAM workflow via Ariba (appropriateness of renewals/purchase), escalating and adding IT Standards to Ariba workflow as appropriate
 Review, research and support action for all Software Tasks in ServiceNow: (P2P, Software, Sourcing)
 Review ServiceNow Ariba Purchase Records:
 Pull PO/PR/Quote to determine details for Software Model (quantity, version, license usage, etc.)
 Assign PO to appropriate Software Model or create new Model and all associated records (user license entitlement, counter, etc.)
 Develop Effective License Position reporting for software products
 Conduct internal audits of software products and create/update Audit Instances in the SAM data repository
 Support Vendor Software Audits (research, coordination, etc.)
 Respond to internal/external audits and communicate results to Sr. leadership
 Research web for vendor EULA and other information for various software products
 Locate software key/license in email from vendor, create key record in ServiceNow and attach key information document (provide to end user as necessary)
 Ensures compliance with IT Asset Management standards and procedures
 Develops requirements for IT Asset Management information, standards, procedures, measurements, and tools
 Responsible for effective implementation and maintenance of IT Asset Management procedures and working practices
 Invokes escalation procedures and communicates exceptions to management
 Acts as a resource for new Project Requests where IT Asset Management is a major project component
 Works closely with the ITAM Tool Team (ServiceNow) to ensure appropriate application manageability for enhancements and new developments to the IT Asset Management repository
 Communicates new developments in IT Asset Management standards and procedures
 Develops annual objectives and targets for the IT Asset Management
 Enhances automation and processes to increase information integrity/accuracy
 Enhances customer service by increasing speed of response time
 Analyze process measurements associated with IT Asset Management and recommend and support improvement activities as appropriate
 Provide IT Asset Management process measurements for management reporting
 Supports internal improvement projects to implement new technology and process improvement, ensuring compatibility and integration with other processes
 Support end users with software licensing issues
 Collaborate with IT Standards and End User Computing on software applications and enabling software products in the ServiceNow Self Service Catalog
 Collaborate with Service Request support to resolve issues with software/service catalog items

Qualifications
• Certification and experience in IT operational standards such as ITIL v3 preferred
• Ability to gather and convey information to stakeholders
• Ability to influence change across a matrix organization and collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver solutions
• Needs to be self-motivated and willing to learn details of software asset management processes and tools and encourage team members to do the same
• Ability to effectively analyze software utilization and installation data to determine software compliance
• 7+ years’ experience working in Information Technology
• Understands how the IT group operates and how his/her role meets customer needs and creates value
• Knowledge of our financial client Policies and work environment and tools

Location- Detroit, MI
