Our client, a leading medical device company is looking for Content Development Manager. This is for an initial duration 11 Months contract position in Franklin Lakes, NJ

Job Description:
The Content Development Manager is responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content across multiple platforms and formats to achieve our business and marketing goals. This individual is an expert in all things related to content and brand consistency, with a focus on digital and segmented communications.

The Content Manager is responsible for scoping, assigning and supervising all projects from an editorial perspective. This including managing timelines, deliverables/client presentations and personnel, while nurturing the professional growth of each team member. As a working manager, this individual also executes the responsibilities of a Senior Copywriter, Copy Editor and Proofreader, when needed.

Key Success Factors:
  • Ensures the accurate and timely delivery of high-quality content for all projects
  • Manages and maintains a network of editorial talent with superior experience, performance and credentials
  • Develops and maintains key relationships with the account team, writers, proofreaders and clients
  • Adheres to and supports departmental procedures
  • Advises team and management of anticipated developments that will impact deadlines and devises mitigation plans
Required Skills and Knowledge
Deep content experience:
  • Writing for print, broadcast and digital mediums
  • Creating segmented messaging or communications
  • Creating content expressly for digital production, such as web or iPad applications
  • Coordinating content translations
  • Managing a team of writers and/or proofreaders
  • (Experience in healthcare/medical writing a plus)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Is able to develop content strategy to achieve goals
  • Understands how to create content that draws an audience
  • Has a strong knowledge of AMA and/or Chicago manuals of style
  • Is a strong contributor and collaborator in a team environment
Superior project management skills:
  • Can lead and inspire a team of content creators
  • Is highly organized with keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
  • Has strong management and interpersonal skills
  • Is client-service oriented
Minimum Requirements:
  • Qualifying for this position normally requires the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, English or related field
  • Excellent knowledge of PC-based software programs (e.g., Adobe, Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with Mac environment a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience developing content at an agency, production house, pharmaceutical or medical device company, medical education firm or in a related field
