Our client, a leading medical devices manufacturing company is looking for a Systems Engineer. This is for an initial duration of 6 months and is located in Chaska, MN
 
Top Skills:
  • Electromechanical software control product experience (medium sized medical systems preferred)
  • Experience with hands on troubleshooting and root cause analysis of these products
  • Testing and Documentation (formal reports, reviews, etc.) experience
  • Requirements and DFMEA experience
  • Broad background (requirements, design, test, manufacturing)
  • FMEA facilitation skills and working knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA standards
 
Preferred:
  • Performing statistical data analysis in experimentation/testing (using JMP, Minitab, or other Statistical Analysis software)
 
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for System Requirements definition and evaluation, FMEA, and data evaluation and testing of complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Reports to Reliability/Systems Engineering Manager.
 
Description:
  • Systems Engineer creates and analyzes systems concepts independently including throughput analysis, system capabilities and work breakdown structures.
  • The incumbent assesses customer ergonomics and develops customer specifications from market requirements;
  • Derives, manages and interprets systems requirements;
  • Leads or participates in component, subsystem and system concept design synthesis by advocating the needs created by system interdependencies, interfaces, and interactions;
  • Leads the development of critical multi-discipline systems technologies and feasibility efforts;
  • Leads system critical characterization;
  • Creates and implements verification and validation plans for subsystem and system design;
  • Executes integration and troubleshooting; creates technical documents including project justifications; and leads special teams to solve critical issues
 
Education and Other Skills:
  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred in ME, EE, Physics, Systems Engineering, or Aerospace and 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Focused urgency in cross functional (EE, ME, SW, Chemistry) environment
  • Must have requirements development experience
  • Experience in writing test protocols/reports and test execution to ensure new designs will meet requirements
  • Knowledge/awareness of various manufacturing methods (i.e., machining, casting, molding, metals, plastics).
