Position Summary:
Provides high level user information and support for network, voice, and audio/video hardware applications throughout the organization, by supporting, monitoring, installing, upgrading, changing, and decommissioning. Coordinates with the Network Engineering & Communications team to ensure proper implementation of all IMS operations. Monitors, troubleshoots, and responds to network and communication problems. Follows-up, updates, and escalates user-reported problems using trouble tracking system. Reports findings to Network Engineering & Communications team, as needed. Documents status of network, voice, and audio/video hardware following established procedures. Evaluates existing network & communication equipment to make recommendations for upgrades.

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with members of the Network/Communications team.
  • Monitors ticket workflow and works with the Service Center and Network/Communications team to provide timely and effective service to customers.
  • Initial support contact for Network/Communications tickets requests and support calls.
  • Escalates advanced support requests to senior level Network/Communications team members. Follows-up, updates, and escalates user reported problems using trouble tracking system.
  • Monitors, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and corrects Network/Communication systems problems. Provides user support on a daily basis.
  • Perform additions, moves, changes, and repairs to communications systems, which include telephone, voicemail, video conferencing, and conference room equipment.
  • Performs telephone and voicemail software programming. Replaces defective telephone set hardware, and makes appropriate telephone software changes.
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on assigned communication equipment and systems.
  • Receives, verifies, and secures hardware deliveries as requested by users. Follows department standards for setup, deployment and documentation of hardware.
  • Collaborates with other departments in maintaining information on hardware inventory, system documentation, and user guides.
  • Promotes a culture of learning together by providing suggestions to improve service and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintains inventory control per department standards.
