Job Description:
 
  • Supervises unskilled production, maintenance or warehouse employees. Less specialized knowledge, small in scope, more routine.
  • Supervises simple, standardized, single function.
  • Very small number of direct reports. (Example is very small warehouse operation).
 
Duties:
 
  • Supervises the execution of departmental plans to achieve objectives in safety, quality, schedule, efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Administers employee policies, practices, procedures and work rules appropriate for the unit.
  • Monitors individual performance and takes corrective action including discipline, as needed, and responds to complaints to insure the Company and employees adheres to policies, practices, procedures and work rules.
  • Establishes employee environment regarding communications, feedback and overall guidance. Ensures that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully do their job.
  • Works with Safety Team in meeting company standards and enforces safety regulations to prevent and eliminate injuries.
  • Resolves various systems, parts, people or process issues to correct deficiencies, reduce costs, improve processes/performance.
  • Manages and controls costs to stay within the department operating budget targets.
  • Coordinates departmental continuous improvement plans and activities.
Specific Position Requirements          
 
This is an off-shift position. Candidate must be willing to work 3rd shift hours and flex to extended hours and weekends if needed.
 
 Job Description:
 
  • Achieves departmental goals and objectives by supervising internal logistics and supermarket employees in operations or processes requiring semi-skilled to unskilled employees.
  • Executes the Plan For Every Part (PFEP) process on the shop floor. Enables the Material Flow Process within Operations. Administers all UAW Contractual obligations within Supervision of assigned hourly work force.

  • Maintains an ongoing relationship with assigned operational areas to monitor and improve material handling performance; measures the performance of Material Flow Processes; defines corrective actions; obtains assistance from other functional representatives as appropriate;
  • Drives continuous improvement in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery & efficiency within Material Flow Processes assigned to hourly UAW Work Force
  • Develops and executes improvement plans relative to all Material Flow Projects for process adherence and improvement.
  • Supports Material Flow Vision and Execution of Operational Support with regards to Material Availability
  • Supervises and leads the development and execution of departmental plans to achieve objectives in safety, quality, schedule, efficiency and continuous improvement.

Education Preferred:
 
  • B.A. or A.A. with relevant work experience
 
Years of Experience Required:

 
  • 2+ years in Manufacturing/Supply Management Environment leading a team
 
Must Haves:
 
  • Strong Inter-Personal Communication Skills & Capabilities (Care for others)
  • Proven Leadership in a change environment (Professional Maturity)
  • Can-Do Attitude and a mind towards improvement and sustained high performance (Business IQ)
Hours:
 
  • 50-55 hrs per week
  • Yes, there will be OT and the need to flex scheduling on off-shift as necessary
