Sr. Oracle/SQL DBA

Position Description

Location: 100% Remote. Multiple end clients that are based on Georgia, Kansas, and Virginia. Preferably will need to work near one of the end client locations (same or neighboring state).

Duration: Long term -- contract to hire 

The candidate would be responsible for:
· High level technical resolution for incidents received from phone calls, emails or automated ticketing system during specific shifts.
· Respond to telephone calls, email, instant messages and assigned tickets from customers, Assigned work orders / incidents to appropriate support teams and follow up until closure.
· Evaluate Root Cause analysis, looking for permanent fix, and preventive steps.
· Automation View (preferably script ability – powershel/shell script)
· Provide client advisory on Database Technology, Architecture and best practices
· Install, patch update and Upgrade Oracle & MSSQL Databases
· Learn new versions and provide guidance on migrations and new Standards

Desired Skills
· Should have excellent communication skills and excellent customer interfacing skills.
Should have a minimum of 5+ yrs. of relevant experience in Oracle Support for mission critical Environments
· Management and Database Security Administration.
· Ability to understand Customer issues very quickly based on gathered information and provide fixes and workarounds.
· Strong Knowledge on Oracle and MSSQL Databases
· Excellent Knowledge and real time experience on Database Monitoring.
· Troubleshooting Oracle issues.
· Perform activities related to install, configure and managing Databases.
· Perform Database performance tuning and capacity planning.
· Setting up and testing new Databases.
· Good knowledge and real time experience on Relational Database Management System (RDBMS),
· Writing Database documentation, including Data Standards, procedures and definitions.
· Controlling Database Access permissions and privileges.
· Developing, Managing and testing Database backup and recovery plan.
· Working closely with IT project managers, database programmers and multimedia programmers;
· Knowledge on Database Disaster Recovery procedures.

· Oracle DB 11g/12c;
· MSSQL Server
