Job Description:
Responsibilities SUMMARY:
Responsible for the identification, assimilation, analysis, interpretation and, logical dissemination of information from various systems available to support special initiatives and daily functions.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Perform data analysis to determine optimal inventory balances by distribution point nationally / internationally.
  • Execute action plans minimize inventory levels without disrupting service levels.
  • Support department lead initiatives through the all analytical tools and data sources possible to provide fair and accurate information to enable decision making.
  • Ensure balance between planned inventory and inventory deployment and reconcile any differences.
  • Support or manage and maintain inventory initiatives around the world with data and analysis.
  • Interface with global planners, other analysts, management and global logistics people to support global inventory initiatives.
  • Develop consistent and repeatable processes for the extraction of data and computation of Global KPIs and other reports as required.
  • Ensure that analysis and/or systems and processes delivered are appropriately geared to the user audience.
  • Information to be published must be verified and cross checked for accuracy before distribution. Inaccurate or incomplete information can damage the organization's credibility and potentially lead to negative financial situations.
  • Ensures that global daily and/or weekly reports are published timely at the agreed upon times.
  • All documents published must be considered in wording and terminology to insure global understanding

Scope of position responsibilities:

  • This position will be directly and/or indirectly responsible to manage or support the management and decision making for hundreds of millions of dollars of the company's global assets in the form of global inventory and, Client and machinery.
The Category Specialist, Indirect Procurement serves as the Procurement support for the Global Category Lead and business stakeholders.  In this capacity, the individual is responsible for cost savings and value-adding benefit. S/he will help identify, select, and steward preferred suppliers for the corresponding business partners.  The Category Specialist interfaces with business stakeholders to support their project objectives as well as to identify and prioritize cost-savings opportunities. In addition, this person will respond to supplier service and / or quality issues to mitigate negative impact on the company.  The Category Specialist is expected to assist the Global Category Lead to meet or exceed all budget deflation and productivity commitments for business projects.
Essential Functions
  • Cost Savings: The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Global Category Lead to identify cost savings opportunities across the company.
  • Team Work: Provide support to internal customers in collaboration with the Global Category Lead by assisting with the sourcing process and minimizing risk associated with contracting and procurement-related activities.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Serve as Procurement support for the Global Category Lead with responsibility for stakeholder project work.
  • Interface with business stakeholders to support their project objectives in collaboration with the Global Category Lead and identify cost-savings and efficiency opportunities.
  • Respond to supplier service and / or quality issues to mitigate negative impact on the company.
  • Meet or exceed all budget deflation for business projects.
  • Monitor and improve existing prices and service levels. 
  • Conduct Requests for Quotes (tenders); negotiate contracts; use sourcing tools (i.e. bid processes, benchmarks, competitive market data) to drive savings.
  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field, such as Finance, Accounting, Business, or similar fields.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience through work in Manufacturing or Service companies with over 5 years relevant indirect procurement experience.
  • Proven track record in negotiation and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.  Must be fluent in English.
Required Experience
  • Experience in working with financial information to develop consensus and buy-in for data-based decisions.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint.
Relevant Experience
  • Experience in purchasing / procurement activities such as tenders, negotiations, and contracts.
  • Experienced with principles and procedures related to contract terms and conditions.
  • Knowledgeable in benchmarking, indexes, and competitive data.
