Job Description
  • The Senior Manager, Production Engineering role offers the technical professional the opportunity to operate at a strategic level with one of the world’s great technology product manufactures.
  • The incumbent will play a central and critical role in introducing to market the company’s latest products.
  • He/ She is responsible to ensure products are designed for DfX and with robustness through their entire life cycle. T
  • he incumbent will marshal a team of engineers with diverse skill and abilities through the day to day challenges of a fast paced manufacturing environment while achieving schedule objectives.
  • He/ She interacts with all parts of the business and will be looked to drive financial performance through lower manufacturing cost and eliminating scrap, rework and warranty charges. 
Job Duties
  • Collaborate with NPI Engineering in instrument products’ design for ease of manufacture, ease of assembly and ease of test.
  • Sustain released products to achieve highest levels of quality, reliability and on time delivery.
  • Create manufacturing, production and test processes, tools and fixtures.
  • Continuously improve products and processes to reduce manufacturing costs and increased quality.
  • Eliminate costs of non-Quality: scrap, rework and warranty repairs.
  • Control and Document of Manufacturing and Production Processes.
  • Develop the capabilities of department staff through talent development, cross-training and organizational development.
  • Lead and support of the company’s Lean and Continuous Improvement program.
  • Interact with all business functions with emphasis on manufacturing operations and NPI engineering.
  • Plan/meet schedules for NPI and other projects.
  • Assess staffing requirements for skillsets and personnel levels.
  • Implement and continuously improve manufacturing processes capable of meeting quality, cost, delivery and safety objectives.
  • Successfully integrate new products into manufacturing.
  • Provide field Service with product support solutions and technical support for issues occurring in the field
  • Innovation in production processes
  • Ability to respond to changing priorities without schedule impact or with timely notification to the business of schedule impacts or other risks
  • Application of discipline and rigor in the documentation of products, processes, production test, tools/fixtures
  • Personal and departmental participation in the company’s Lean and Continuous Improvement programs
  • Perform all other essential duties as assigned.  
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Electrical Engineering capacity is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Technical Management position is desired.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Management experience of an Engineering, Production Engineering and/or Industrial Engineering function is highly desired.
  • Hands-on skills and experience with Manufacturing processes, systems and tools are essential.
  • Must be a result-oriented ‘change agent’ who demonstrates an analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Must possess exemplary interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing organizational goals.
  • Knowledge and understanding of MRP and shop floor control systems are a plus.
  • Project Management skills and experience are essential.
  • Proven ability to assess resource requirements and workloads for effective execution are necessary.
  • Thorough understanding of Product Life Cycle Management and Configuration Control are essential.
