Job Description:
  • Performs basic product design, testing and/or analysis work for a defined portion of a project. Operates in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews.
  • Develops recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by supervisors before implementation.
  • Applies existing applications to routine problems.
  • Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications.
  • This may include possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.
  • Analyzes assignments and determines engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for routine problems or projects.
  • Compiles and furnishes necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.
  • Learns and applies company engineering policies and practices; learns company products.
  • Executes test or analysis plan for product verification and validation.
Job Duties:
  • Help refine & improve V2Net test procedures for sprayer components or system design activities in conjunction with design engineers and performance engineer.
  • Design & develop test fixtures and procedures as needed, working in collaboration with design engineers and test mechanics.
  • Execute these test activities & work proactively around obstacles which are preventing progress. Keep management informed of test status & be transparent about major issues that surface. Adjust resources and work around roadblocks as necessary so tests can be executed in a timely manner.
  • Compile data into a form that can be easily interpreted and is meaningful.
  • Use Ncode ICE-Flow (Glyphworks), TCE, InField, and Excel to accomplish data manipulation. Document test conditions, machine configurations, and instrumentation setup so that tests are repeatable and external factors can be considered during data review.
  • Reference related part numbers, NCCA and EETS issues in the test report. Create standardized test procedures and then edit them as necessary when new technology & improved methods are developed.
  • Schedule and lead test reviews to share results with Product Engineering and Management. Provide formal, thorough reports summarizing test results & conclusions. During data review meetings, offer insight & recommendations to help solve identified problems.
  • Work safely in factory, on field visits and in the office. Provide ideas of how to improve on the safety of operations. Focus on our products and how we can improve them to protect the safety of our customers.
  • B.S. in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Electrical Engineering with PV&V experience acquired through internships or EDP, or equivalent work experience
  • Must be able to quickly learn/understand the basic principles of PV&V systems and be able to use this knowledge to test and troubleshoot
  • Effective communication and proactive problem solving skills while managing multiple activities simultaneously
  • Must be able to provide leadership and work direction without direct reporting authority while working with the wage shop
  • Good understanding of Excel and other software tools to analyze & manipulate data
  • Must have strong technical writing/communication skills in order to effectively summarize information within reports & create/edit standardized testing procedures
  • Safety shoes with internal metatarsal protection
  • Travel (up to 15% in the field each year) to TX, CA, or international (Brazil).
  • PV&V experience acquired through prior PV&V assignments, internships, or EDP rotations
  • Familiarity with Creo is recommended in order to independently design fixtures for lab testing purposes
  • Experience with simple PLC programming, test automation, & controllers like Rasberry Pi's, Arduinos, Velocios, Impellors, or Picocontrollers, etc.
  • Ability to efficiently manage several different tasks as mechanics and parts become available. In general, the candidate will be responsible for 5-10 test activities at any given time & will need to be able to move between them as time & resources permit.
