Summary
  • We have an immediate need for a Program Manager Consultant with significant experience leading complex multi-stakeholder related projects with experience managing projects in the biotechnology space.
  • The qualified candidate must be a thought leader, critical thinker, knowledgeable about biologics drug discovery and a key resource.
  • This role will report to the portfolio manager.
  • Additionally, the candidate must have excellent time management skills to function in a fastpaced environment, demonstrating independent work skills, strong work ethic, and a passion for helping to fuel the Research IT space pipeline.
  • As the Program Manager Consultant, you will be responsible for project management and general project management duties for assigned projects.
  • You will be expected to bring in projects on time and within budget.
  • You will also be responsible for developing and reporting on multiple project management metrics and status reports while creating and maintaining a detailed project plan for all assigned work. 
  • The Client Genetics Center (RGC) has built one of the world’s most comprehensive genetics databases, pairing the sequenced exomes and de-identified electronic health records of more than 180,000 people so far.
  • Building upon our strengths in mouse genetics and genetics-driven drug discovery, this information will allow us to elucidate, on a large scale, genetic factors that cause or influence a range of human diseases.
  • We believe that this knowledge can advance basic science around the world, provide clinically valuable insights to physicians and patients and ultimately make drug development faster and more precise.
  • Our team conducts gene sequencing projects, functional biology, disease modelling and the translation of genetics findings into Client’s preclinical and clinical pipelines.
  • We are using our unique database and state-of-the-art analysis capabilities to identify new drug targets and therapeutic indications, to validate our existing programs and to build better-informed clinical trials
  • Our explorations include Mendelian and family frameworks, large-scale population genetics (both common and rare variants) and gene-gene interactions.
  • This role will be part of portfolio team to deliver value to senior scientists (stakeholders).

Role Specific
  • Project management with AWS experience critical.
  • Traditional large scale datacenter experience, big plus.
  • Direct experience implementing scientific projects and programs with cloud services Experience with application migrations to the private and public cloud Knowledge of Amazon Web Services Experience migrating applications, servers and databases from cloud to cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of software development/engineering lifecycle from conception to delivery Demonstrated leadership through influence Prior experience working with or managing large technical programs, particularly at high growth start-ups or Fortune 500 companies High learning intelligence – the ability to learn quickly and efficiently Contracting and procurement framework, enabling the identification of gaps in an immature process that is evolving Comfortable influencing an experienced team toward aggressive timelines Participate in the weekly Research IT portfolio meetingEssential Functions
  • Responsible for all phases of projects of a highly complex nature, which may include projects involving multiple project work streams, and acts as a single point of contact for those projects  Plan and manage programs and projects across multiple business Product Teams, as well as across internal IT departments as required  Take projects from original concept through final implementation
  •  Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users and IT and business partners.
  • Actively manage small and large scale projects directly with varying degrees of complexity.
  • Conduct program and project meetings and is responsible for tracking and analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and reviews all project deliverables Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solution of problems.
  • Communicate with stakeholders on an ongoing basis; estimate resources and participants needed to achieve project goals; draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary; manage multiple projects as necessary Negotiate with other department managers and vendors for the acquisition of required resources; determine and assess needs for additional staff and consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders; delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel  Version 1.3.6
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools; track project milestones and deliverables; develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results and troubleshoot problem areas; proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
  • Conduct post project post-mortems and create recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Coordinate with IT and department managers to assess and track plans, status, etc. for on-time delivery of critical projects and programs; this includes assisting teams and the project teams in removing impediments and resolving cross-team issues
Requirements
  • All required skills will be validated before interview.
  • Bachelor’s Degree; Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Biopharma, Pharma, BioTech, Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Master’s Degree
  • preferred 3+ years’ experience in a Pharma
  • BioTech, or MedTech company,
  • Preferred Project Management Professional (PMP) certification active  Agile Certification (one or more) o Certified Scrum Master (Scrum Alliance)
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (Project Management Institute)  Certified SAFe Agilist (Scaled Agile Framework)
  • Certified SAFe Practitioner  (Scaled Agile Framework) 10+ years’ experience as a Project Manager Experience leading teams in at least two separate industries Experience working in a business environment coordinating with and supporting internal and external clients and vendors Experience managing complex development projects with significant business input and interaction Expert in managing project scope, time and resources, budget, quality and risk/issues while balancing the need of multiple stakeholders building relationships through effective communication.
  • Experience to understand how to develop and managing a critical path, with only limited information to start.
