Position Description
  • Management of a portfolio of Affordable Housing.
  • Responsible for physical and financial status of assigned properties and units while adhering to and directing the implementation of applicable federal, state and local laws and policies.
  • Ensures all affordable housing and funding requirements and criteria are met.
  • Oversight and day to day operations of one or several communities to include, but not limited to dwelling lease and regulations compliance, housing counselling and placement of applicants in affordable housing programs.
  • Works with residents toward solution of family and community challenges and achievement of self-sufficiency and home maintenance.
  • Interprets and enforces federal, state, and local housing regulations on a variety of housing programs - Under supervision, acts as liaison with other county agencies, homeowner associations, or non-profit organizations and residents - In coordination with the assigned property staff, to include HSS II/Occupancy Specialist and HSS I /Vacancy Coordinator, compiles and maintains tenant and applicant records, documenting files in accordance with federal, state or local law and agency, and FCRHA requirements - Assists in facilitating all necessary involvement from internal and external sources to successfully move residents through the housing continuum.
Skills Required
  • Effective oral and written communication skills o Ability to use personal computer to enter and retrieve information and create reports o Ability to interpret and apply federal, state and local housing assistance and/or relocation regulations o Ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationship with tenants, relocates, and professionals in the residential, business, and human services communities o Ability to accurately make basic mathematical calculations o Ability to balance heavy workload o Ability to meet deadlines o Ability to evaluate bids and monitor contractors o Ability to utilize word processing and spreadsheet software
Experience Required
  • 3+ years of experience in the field of human relations, Section 8, property management or relocation
Education Required
  • Must Possess the following:  Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in sociology, psychology, public - HCCP Certification - Possession of a valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License
