Job Description:
  • The Marketing Procurement team manages categories such as commercial print, consumer call center, Licensing, RD&E, Market research, Packaging Services, Promotions, merchandising, e-commerce.
  • She/he will have global responsibility for some of the above sub-categories and be responsible for all aspects of this spend including managing the end-to-end strategic sourcing and procurement process:
  • Provide thought leadership and innovative strategies for optimizing sourcing effectiveness by understanding the global supply market and driving category strategy execution to positively impact cost, innovation, risk management and other value added elements of supplier relationships
  • Accountable for strategy execution and results delivery for his/her categories
  • Engages and works in partnership with Marketing and Sales organizations to support long-term business goals
  • Manage, lead and develop the procurement best practice in key areas such as market analysis, cost modeling, risk analysis, benchmarking, by applying best-practice processes, tools, and techniques, in accordance with procurement governance, processes, standards, and procedures
  • Manage and optimize the supplier portfolio
  • Lead the development, negotiation and management of select strategic supplier agreements
  • Measure and track performance of spend category and define budgetary impact
  • Work with the Business Unit to enable and implement processes and systems that drive overall procurement efficiency and improve compliance
  • Produce periodic reports as required by the function
  • Provide input, influence and linkage to the e-Ordering tools e.g. Ariba.
Primary Accountabilities:
Strategic Planning
  • Define category group's procurement strategy to establish supply sources, maximize current and future market conditions, and define contingency planning to ensure critical supply needs are met
  • Establish end-to-end process with ownership and commitment to procurement strategies throughout planning and execution
  • Establish and maintain portfolio of strategic agreements and key supplier relationships to manage risk to the CLIENT in procuring category group materials / services (i.e. pricing, supply, quality, etc.)
  • Establish and evaluate performance metrics for group of categories
  • Drive engagement of procurement throughout product development lifecycles to optimize value creation and delivery to the CLIENT
  • Drive external / marketplace knowledge of the latest category dynamics, trends and best practices
  • Identify, prioritize and drive implementation of continuous improvement opportunities
  • Oversee high level risk management activities (and gain risk management expertise) for respective category areas
Sourcing & Procurement Management
  • Direct category group's procurement activities (category and project), including new product development engagement, strategic sourcing, supplier management and contract management
  • Provide leadership and support during sourcing initiatives, including total cost of ownership model development, category strategy development, fact-based negotiation strategy development & execution, supplier evaluation & selection, and category implementation
Supplier Relationship Management
  • Develop and manage mutually beneficial relationships with key suppliers
  • Engage in joint business planning with supply base
  • Contribute to establishing metrics and evaluate, develop and prioritize approaches to meet business objectives and benefit targets
  • Manage supplier performance based on performance objectives
  • Oversee the quarterly business review process for key suppliers
  • Provide high level of issue resolution where necessary (supplier quality and service)
Customer Relationship Management
  • Drive efforts to engage and understand internal customer needs and summarize business requirements as input into enterprise-wide sourcing efforts
  • Work to identify, prioritize and manage requirements for current, new and future activities

Required Skills and Education:
  • Education: BA/BS Degree
  • 5 + years' experience in Procurement
  • Experience in working in a matrix and cross border relationship
  • Analytical skills, with good financial and business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate and deliver optimal supply agreements
  • Project Management skills and excellent process mindset
  • Excellent IT skills (SAP, etc.)
  • Mobility and flexibility to travel
Preferred Skills, Experience and Education:
  • Education: BA/BS Marketing/Business ; MBA
  • 7+ plus years of business experience in Marketing Procurement and depth of procurement skills in key tools such as clean sheets and total cost of ownership
  • Purchasing certifications
  • Proven track record of cross functional collaboration
Required Skills:
  • Education: BS Degree
  • Five plus years of business experience in procurement of professional services, HR and/or facilities with proven track record
  • Ability to interface with multiple levels of an organization internally and externally
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated skills (at global level) including communication, presentation, networking, strategic thinking, leadership, strong influencing skills, negotiations, contracting and problem solving.
