The Director Human Resources provides strategic HR leadership and hands on support to assigned functional groups. Serves as an active member of the leadership team by providing consultative advice and strategic thought on the talent implications of business strategies and objectives. This position is also responsible for creating robust strategic partnerships with various corporate resources and leveraging cross-functional teams to drive solution-based responses aligned with Olympus's business objectives. The Director, Human Resources has responsibilities to participate and oversee the following:
Leads HR Business Partners to-
  • Serve as change champions.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with client groups. Engages with clients to develop first- hand knowledge of the organization as well as short and long-term business goals and objectives. Leverages these engagements to develop HR strategies and solutions to further organizational goals.
  • Collaborates with and coordinates global & regional HR team resources to influence company-wide outcomes and solutions that shape culture build organizational capability and enable business results & effective change management.
  • Partners with business leaders and peer HRBPs in the execution of regional functional processes including talent acquisition / recruitment onboarding, education training, & development talent mobility performance management organizational design & effectiveness.
  • Builds the business partner relationship with management and staff. Provides coaching to leaders and employees to facilitate problem solving and employee relations issues in a co-leadership structure.
  • Identifies talent gaps and development needs of the client groups its managers and staff in key o positions. Plays a key role in facilitating succession planning workforce contingencies career management performance management and recruiting strategies.
  • Partners with HR Centers of Excellence to address issues and to ensure client groups receive the necessary services and support, including identifying compensation and benefits issues and reviews with management to promote pay equity and efficient benefits service delivery.
  • Remain abreast of changing requirements on a Local, State, and Federal level.
  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration Human Resources required.
  • Professional certification (PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years progressive Human Resources experience with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • HR Generalist experience should include experience in at least three of the following: recruitment & staffing, employee relations, training, compensation & benefits, and career development.
  • Experience working in a global organization across multiple cultures, sites and functions strongly preferred. Experience supporting Operations, Manufacturing to include Repair functions is a plus.
  • Requires broad management and leadership knowledge with an ability to lead project teams as needed
  • Ability to develop solutions that have an impact on multiple sites geographies or customers
  • Ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organization including at senior levels
  • Provides broad business centered support of all functional groups assigned
  • Knowledge of complex business models and/or technology exposure and aptitude
  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments while fostering a collaborative and cooperative work environment.
  • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
  • Strong leader with a bias towards action - able to move quickly and decisively; has results-driven orientation
  • Excellent analytical skills and comfort working within an environment where efforts are measured against quantitative objectives or ROI
  • Self-starter that is assertive possesses a high degree of self- confidence leadership and intellectual curiosity exhibits a bias for action and demonstrates presence
  • Proficient computer skills relative to Word Excel Power Point and related business systems.
  • Proficiency with computer systems including MS Word Excel PowerPoint and HRIS. Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.):
  • Must be able to travel as business needs warrant, domestically and internationally
