Join us as we enhance our portfolio of services to become a dominant provider of air freight services, while maintaining our reputation for quality and customer satisfaction.
 
As our Director of Air Freight Business Development, we expect you to build a successful air freight sales infrastructure, coach and develop people in 10 stations across the country, beginning with the gateway cities of New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.  We expect you to develop programs to reward success; both at an individual and team level.
 
You will implement tools to measure, change and evolve our air freight business unit and will develop the sales process at a national level that includes acquiring your own, as well as assisting others in the acquisition of air freight business from new and existing accounts, as well as ensuring that we maintain account profitability and a high degree of client service levels.
 
Two years from now, you'll be the hero who helped transform our air freight business unit into a major force to be reckoned with!
  • Proven executive leadership throughout the sales cycles – especially in the prospecting, pricing, and closing phases
  • Effectively orchestrated regional and global resources to support sales teams in developing accounts
  • Effectively handled the company's targeted number of client bids and negotiations each month
  • Established strategic partnerships with clients, overseas partners, and carrier
  • Established best selling and operation practices that are applied within the firm, as well as with outside constituents.
  • Elicited and applied client feedback that guides future product and service directions
  • Consistently resolved critical client issues in person within an acceptable timeframe
  • Worked closely with Operations to maintain high level of service to clients
  • Produced and attended the required number of client forums and industry events, especially within 180 days of this new organization going to market
Sales Planning Goals
  • Develop a national sales strategy (with senior management's involvement) within 60 days of your start date, which ties into the overall corporate sales goals
  • Effectively lead and manage resources that deliver on this strategy
  • Develop several of your own and be managing other opportunities for Air Freight business across multiple stations, according to plan. 
  • Be responsible for the firm hitting its quarterly Air Freight revenue targets
  • Provide timely and accurate revenue and profitability forecasts on a monthly basis for Air Freight business
  • Proactively identify industry and economic trends that impact Air Freight business
  • Develop relevant internal and external metrics to measure the sales organization's performance for Air Freight business
