Our firm has provided customized private and commercial banking services to high net worth clients for the past 150 years.

We are looking for a Vice President of Business Development for our New York HQ who will be responsible for achieving assigned revenue goals.

This position will focus on opening standard deposit accounts and generating residential and commercial mortgage loans.

Essential Job Functions
  • Identify, develop and manage new business opportunities with prospective and existing clients (individual may bring over existing business from previous firm)
  • Ensure world-class client service, including timely and accurate responses to client inquiries and requests.
  • Cross sell all banking products (depository, credit, wealth management services, cash management, etc.) and services
  • Develops relationship of trust with existing and potential client base
  • Prospect new clients through cold-calling, referrals, and active involvement in community and/or professional groups
  • Identify opportunities to raise awareness and promote our brand with key constituencies, and represent the firm at relevant industry meetings, seminars, and events
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of successful sales/client service experience in wealth management/private banking services industry
  • Knowledge of banking and credit products
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of investments, trust and financial consulting concepts
  • Ability to develop and manage credit relationships with high net worth individuals and corporations/partnerships to provide appropriate financial direction.
  • Knowledge of the sales cycle/process as it pertains to Private Banking business
  • Ability to add value throughout each segment of the sales process: Prospecting, identifying leads, identifying client needs, negotiating rates/services, closing, and relationship building.
  • Must have the ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with internal and external customers
  • Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company and its operating units
  • Must achieve performance goals and objectives with little or no supervision
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle internal and external situations
  • Must have strong organizational skills & attention to detail
  • Apply active listening skills to accurately understand, record, and act on internal and external client verbal communication.
