AGILE COACH
The Agile Coach will support the Agile transformation of one or more departments within an organization, consisting of multiple delivery teams within a fast-paced application development environment. Engagement with both Business and IT, breaking the contract game, is a key responsibility of the Agile Coach. As the Coach, you will be a critical member of the core delivery team empowered to help build high performing teams, build shippable product, and be responsible for guiding at all levels across their Agile journey. You will help not only optimize within your department but the entire value stream of various upstream and downstream teams. As a coach, you will guide scrum teams, but you will also guide management in the transition to Agile. You will play a key role as facilitator of various large scale ceremonies, so workshop skills are a key requirement.

Key Role Functions:
  • Aligns all levels of management to the goals of the Agile Principles and Scrum Values
  • Sets vision and roadmap for Agile transformation and establishes appropriate measures of success
  • Facilitates workshops to align the Agile teams and impacted parties; e.g. executives and stakeholders, technology teams, business owners, users, infrastructure teams, upstream and downstream teams
  • Guides the overall transformation and is responsible for creating the transformation roadmap, business and IT engagement, and Agile education
  • Works directly with the project team on a daily basis
  • Creates and conducts training on Agile and Scrum topics
  • Ensures adherence to Agile Values and Principles and the chosen framework such as Scrum or XP
  • Enforces the agreed upon cadence and coordination activities
  • Ensures cadence and coordination across Scrum teams
  • Coaches executives and team members on Agile Principles and Scrum values
  • Grow coaches over time from high-performance practitioners & evangelists on established agile teams
  • May act as Scrum Master
  • When acting in the capacity of Scrum Master, facilitates all Scrum ceremonies: Daily standup, Backlog grooming, Sprint review, Retrospectives, Sprint planning
Education:
  • Level: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Area of Study: Preferred MBA or Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Certifications: Scrum Master Certified

Minimum Experience:
10-15 years of software development experience (either as PM, BA, tester or developer)
5+ years of experience leading Agile Scrum teams/serving as a Scrum Master
5+ years serving in the capacity of an Agile Coach

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
  • Agile experience/knowledge of key agile techniques including Kanban, Lean, XP, Scrum, and SAFe
  • Workshop Facilitation Skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle impromptu discussions on complex Agile transformation topics
  • Calm in the face of adversity
