Description:
 
  • Payroll Specialist Senior Processes payroll to ensure employees are being paid properly, reports are file timely and systems are performing nominally.
  • Provides support to the Payroll Manager and assists in responding to Corporate, compliance and regulatory agencies.
  • Prepares various accounting spreadsheets, schedules, reconciliations and summaries in accordance to Corporate Standard Operating Procedures and legal requirements.
  • Provides site support in handling employee questions and complaints in regards to payroll checks, direct deposits, leave balances and other payroll related issues. Prepares and maintains supporting documentation of payroll adjustments.
  • Responsible for ensuring ACH and Positive Pay files are created, approved and transmitted timely to the bank. Provides payroll reports to the sites. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • This position has high pressure deadlines so high volume payroll experience is needed.
  •  This position requires the candidate have recent Advanced experience with Excel - Pivot Tables and VLOOK UP. Please indicate in submittal and resume when they have used these skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll processing and payroll tax laws.
  •  Knowledge of accounting that includes spreadsheets and relational data base programs. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft applications and data entry.
  • Familiarity with payroll software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Effective organizational, decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Peoplesoft knowledge preferred. Costpoint and Cognos knowledge is a plus.
  • 3 to 5 years payroll processing experience (in-house). Preferably with a company w/ large volume payroll.
  • Peoplesoft payroll processing experience is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus some formal training is required.
  • Six (6) hours credit in accounting principles. is preferred.
