PURPOSE
The Business Advisory, Financial Planning and Analysis function plays an integral part in the organization by providing support, development, and analysis for the US Capital Markets segment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Liaise with Business Managers to institute policies pertaining to cost containment and balance sheet optimization
  • Implement metrics/analytics into monthly reporting packages in order to monitor costs and profitability within each Corporate Banking industry vertical
  • Regional Balance sheet analyses, projections, and what-if scenarios reflecting regulatory impacts for capital and liquidity across existing and new products.
  • Build ad-hoc models to evaluate regional business/legal entity capital adequacy
  • Provide support to Senior Managers in the team, where requests may range from ad hoc projects, management reporting, to data mining.
  • Support the production of executive level presentations; providing financial updates to the Regional COO, Regional CFO, Regional OC as well as Platform Head Office
  • Maintain the production of the monthly forecast, annual plan, and 5 year projections for all U.S. Corporate Banking Industry Verticals.
  • Assist with, and in some cases own, production and delivery of monthly/quarterly business financial management reporting packages.
  • Aide in translating business strategy into the financial impact, and expected results, which include identifying financial risks and opportunities, compensation issues and front and back office requirements. This can take the form of supporting PARs and/or NBC papers, but also includes ad-hoc business models and project teams.
  • Recommend ways to better archive, harmonize and organize periodic financial data for studies and analyses
  • Assist in developing financial metrics to better analyze financial results, to better track and allocate costs and improve the budgeting/forecasting processes
  • Integrate & align existing management planning/forecasting processes with enhanced CCAR requirements
  • Analyze and recommend ways to enhance the books and records structure
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous work experience must include:
  • Financial Statements orientation and comprehension
  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Basel III exposure
  • Revenue/ expense recognition, balance sheet impact and reporting considerations.
  • Strong computer skills in organizing and manipulating large data sets (Advanced MS Excel/PowerPoint required).
  • Excellent Communication skills (written & verbal).
Required:
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years recent relevant experience
Preferred:
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Financial Services/Capital Markets Industry Exposure
  • Experienced in IBM Cognos
