Copy Editing Specialist
The Copy Editing Specialist provides a final check and proofing of all product information elements (metadata) before products are placed for sale.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • PRODUCT METADATA COPY EDITING: The Copy Editing Specialist proofreads and fact checks product descriptions and supporting information prior to releasing a product to be published to the our websites or delivered to our web stores. Key elements such as a product's price, publish date, territory rights, availability, provider, royalty earner, and all taxonomy elements are top priority areas of review. The Copy Editing Specialist also provides QA for style, data consistency, and related product linking for all product metadata. The Copy Editing Specialist needs to meet daily copy editing quotas and complete prioritized processing requests. The Copy Editing Specialist provides timely required final approval to the Audio team to process any piece of content. The Copy Editing Specialist also helps maintain and update product metadata for all products available on marketplaces.
  • EDITORIAL: The Copy Editing Specialist may need to heavily edit, rewrite, or create descriptions for products. The Copy Editing Specialist may need to research and assemble positive product review "blurbs to be added to product descriptions.
  • OTHER COPY EDITING: The Copy Editing Specialist will assist the Marketing and Merchandising teams in both internal and external projects, which may involve website-based copy as well as marketing collateral. The Copy Editing Specialist may also be called upon to copy-edit or proofread internal company documents or senior-level correspondence.
Qualifications:
  • B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree, preferably in the humanities.
  • Minimum one year professional proofreading, copy-editing, and fact-checking experience in publishing.
  • Minimum one year experience in Web-based publishing environment.
  • Familiarity with social media and Web-based research tools (e.g., Google).
  • Technical proficiency in Windows operating environment.
  • Fluency in Outlook, Excel, and MS Word.
  • Able to multi-task and problem-solve in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Some data-entry experience.
  • Some familiarity with database concepts.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Project-management skills.
