Job Overview:

Our Marketing team does the exciting work of building relationships with our authors and promoting their audiobooks to our customers. The Associate Marketing Manager will drive sales of audiobook titles among our customers via creative promotions and collaboration with the Merchandising team.

This Associate Marketing Manager role sits at a dynamic nexus, where content acquisition, recording, and marketing all intersect. It requires experience in online consumer marketing/merchandising, excellent organizational and communication skills, analytical capability, and a perfectionist's spirit. The right candidate will demonstrate promotional creativity, sound business sense, comfort with massive throughput and sprawling details, and a knack for getting things done.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Manage the publishing schedule for a slate of audiobook releases and assist in shaping the identity of the brand.
  • Understand the key selling points for books and/or groups of books and draft positioning, direction, and accompanying copy for on-site promotions and consumer emails.
  • Create innovative new promotional concepts that:
    • Turn high-potential titles into big hits
    • Provide exposure for niche titles
    • Monitor and mine an extensive catalog of backlist titles.
  • Create compelling landing pages, customer emails, bonus audio/video, and other promotional elements on our web platform that can be leveraged in our other storefronts (UK, Germany, France) and mobile platforms.
  • Work closely with the Merchandising team to secure placement for titles in their promotions.
  • Track completed promotions and perform analyses to monitor effectiveness; communicate results to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure the team's smooth operation by tracking our slate of upcoming releases.
  • Keep internal partners informed about our promotional plans by maintaining our promotional calendar.
  • Facilitate strong author relationships by providing them with information about how we're promoting their books.
  • Bachelor's Degree required
Experience Required:
  • 3-4 years of online marketing experience
Key Skills:
  • Background in online consumer marketing/merchandising
  • The ability to determine the right "angle for promoting a piece of content
  • Proven written and very strong verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, creative thinker, quick learner, very organized
  • Analytical ability
  • Solid MS office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to grasp proprietary tools and systems
  • Some familiarity with HTML/XML
