The Systems Engineer participates in planning, organizing and directing the design, operation and maintenance of the Systems Infrastructure on an enterprise level for the company as operated by the Online Technology Department.
The Systems Engineer helps define systems Architecture and provides vision, problem anticipation and problem solving ability to the organization.
Additionally, the Systems Engineer is familiar with a variety of the compan concepts, practices, and procedures. The Systems Engineer relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of tasks and duties as assigned.

Duties and responsibilities

This person will participate in technical initiatives related to the implementation, monitoring, problem resolution, and overall maintenance of the client and International network systems infrastructure supporting the E-commerce business.
Work closely with the Operations group to ensure smooth implementation and cutovers of systems.
Interface with representatives of business units, and technology groups to implement and support systems services.
Collaborate to the development and maintenance of the Architecture roadmap for the data and security of systems based on service development and demand to support existing and evolving system services.
Implement solutions to grow the systems infrastructure to meet the grou evolving service requirements.
Participate in all technical aspects of server technology, Virtualization, Storage, Replication, and security internetworking projects including, short and long term planning.
Help evaluate and select systems hardware, software, and services to fulfill various businesses needs as requirements develop.
Perform system management functions/troubleshooting/capacity planning/performance monitoring utilizing various systems management/analysis tools.
Provide technical support, operations and problem resolution of systems infrastructure as required, including 24X7 on-call support.
Provided technical guidance and knowledge transfer to peers and support personnel.
Prepare and deliver presentations to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.

Minimum Qualifications

Education / Degree combined with experience:
Bachelor's Degree combined with 3+ years of progressive experience in systems Engineering.

Experience / Education Area:
Bachelor's or Maste Degree in Computer Science/Business or related field and/or demonstrated capability through previous experience and education to perform job responsibilities
Certification such as MCM, MCSD, MCSE, MCITP, MCPD, MCTS, or related educational experience is desired
Three (3 5) years experience of high availability systems infrastructure design, implementation and support experience.
Three (3 5) years in systems and virtualization solutions, implementation, and troubleshooting of mission critical IT systems.
3 years professional experience working with VMware vSphere technologies

Technical Skills:
Knowledge of configuration with Microsoft OS, UNIX OS, VMWare, and SANs.
Knowledge of configuration with Web Servers
Knowledge of configuration with OS Security
Knowledge of configuration with PCI DSS
Knowledge of configuration of Windows 200X, Active Directory, IIS, Linux, DNS, FTP and SMTP
Knowledge of configuration .net, C', Powershell, Web Engineerure, Multi-tier Engineerure are preferred
Scripting skills are required
Some knowledge of applications and development methodologies.
Proficient knowledge and experience with network and systems management/analysis tools such as NETIQ, IBM NetView/Tivoli/Director, IPMonitor, Distributed Sniffer, Performance Manager, etc.
The Systems Engineer must have proven ability to be able to test and troubleshoot these systems.

Soft skills:
Ability to respond quickly, troubleshoot and resolve a system infrastructure problem in a methodical and effective manner.
Familiarity with the business operations of a hosting provider and/or E-commerce.
The candidate will be responsible to liaise with other groups such as business units and applications, database and network teams to develop business and technical requirements, develop project plans, system designs and implementation plans.
Proven written and verbal communications skills, including an ability to provide a synopsis to management.
Candidate must have a good grasp of system trends and the mission of the group in order to provide the most cost effective and efficient systems and maintain upgrade paths.
