Our client is looking for a backend engineer to join their Content Delivery Systems Team.

To succeed you will need experience building scalable, fault-tolerant systems that can withstand millions of operations per day. You'll be responsible for projects that require enhancements to multiple systems, including many outside your team's ownership, so a high degree of empathy for existing solutions and issues is required.
You'll be working with multiple teams across the company, so collaborative skills and the ability to share your technical vision to developers of varying levels of expertise are a must. What You'll Do
  • Develop in Go (Golang) and PHP
  • Identify features in our existing monolithic PHP codebase, and convert them to micro services written in Go or PHP
  • Aggregate data from our existing API's and expose them to consumers
Technical Requirements
  • You'll have at least 3 - 5 years experience as a developer with strong hands on experience with PHP, as well as experience with Go (Golang), or the interest in learning it quickly
  • Understanding of design patterns and software development methodologies
  • Experience with developing RESTful web services
  • Comfortable manipulating JSON and XML (Atom/RSS/XSLT)
  • Experience with various types of authentication JWT, Oauth, Basic Auth
  • Solid understanding of HTTP response - request life cycle (HTTP verbs and response codes)
  • Solid understanding of caching strategies at various levels of the stack: backend application, CDN and client side
  • Knowledge and experience with the AWS ecosystem (SQS, SNS, Lambda, S3)
  • Experience with content management systems
