Programmer Analyst

Purpose of the Role
:

The individual will be working within the trading technology team under the supervision of a development manager. The developer will be involved in analysis, modeling, design, implementation and production support activities. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to utilize a variety of skills in the delivery of assignments.

Responsibilities:
  • Participates in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting software.
  • Applies generally accepted programming standards and techniques to ensure efficient program logic and data manipulation.
  • Analyzes the performance of hardware and software interfaces and identifies alternatives for optimizing the use of computer resources as they apply to the code / applications being developed.
  • Provide assistance and support to team members and other department and/or company staff.
  • Communicate with development manager regarding product development issues, including security and any network requirements.
  • Provide Production Application/Firefight support.
  • Develop software solutions that may be used internal to the organization, and/or are handed over to support staff for operations.

Business, Relational and/or Technical Skills
  • Work with platform-specific development tools (for example Java, Sybase, ksh, perl, Lunix/Unix, Eclipse, Netbeans, SVN, Aqua Data Studio)
  • In-depth understanding of the following program languages (Java, SQL, scripts and Perl)
  • Object Oriented analysis and design experience
  • Experience with J2EE application server (JBoss EAP 7.x or equivalent)
  • Working understanding of the following Sybase database, job scheduler, FIX protocol (a plus), IBM MQ/JMS, JSON/XML
  • Unit and integration testing and deployment.
  • Work with other enterprise services to integrate solution into rest of organization

  • Strong time management skills
  • At least 3 years of development experience preferably within a brokerage environment
