Position Summary

The Production Manager will monitor the manufacturing cycle from work order release through order fulfillment. This position is expected to be a working lead, actively engaged in the daily flow of the manufacturing environment. The Production Manager will provide daily oversight of the production team including employee supervision, material control, assembly, testing and packaging of product for shipment. The position will be responsible for key performance metrics including safety, productivity, quality and delivery.

    • Provide daily leadership, supervision and direction to all members of the production team.
    • Responsible for employee time management, training, development, and performance management including appraisal and disciplinary processes. Involving Human Resources when appropriate.
    • Effectively utilize the ERP system for production execution. Work with the buyer/planner perform necessary follow-up and expediting of schedules to ensure that customer deliveries are met.
    • Lead daily production meetings with order entry and supply chain teams to schedule new orders and manage expedites.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to create efficiencies within the department.
    • Responsible for maintaining operational and quality metrics ensuring that the goals are being met. Identify and implement root cause and corrective action when required.
    • Provide input into the development of business plans, product strategy, cost reduction, engineering, and R&D/new product programs.
    • Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions (Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, etc.) of the organization to obtain optimal utilization of human resources and equipment; Maintain close interaction with supporting functions by participating in engineering, supply chain, and quality related meetings/programs.

Education / Experience Requirements
  • BS/BA or equivalent
  • Requires at least 5 years of progressive manufacturing experience including supervisory/managerial responsibilities within an electronics manufacturing company
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Requirements
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and orally.
  • Highly proficient in electronic assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, or testing of electronic assemblies.
  • Electrical instrumentation assembly and strong mechanical background
  • Proven successful leadership and management skills
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems, computer based time reporting system and Microsoft Office suite
  • Overall electronics knowledge and troubleshooting skills helpful
  • Familiar with ISO-9001-2015 Quality Management System and Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma Principals
  • J-Std-001, IPC-610 certification, or certified trainer a plus.
  • Familiar with ISO-90011 quality management system.
  • Must be familiar with ESD precautions and handling.
  • Ability to utilize an ERP system, computer based time reporting system and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing Principals.
  • Prior experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) is a plus
