Job Description:
Scope: Responsible for all general accounting operations and activities.
The position will be responsible for various aspects of accounting and tax functions for one of the US entities, including but not limited to month-end closing activities, bank and general ledger account reconciliations.

A successful senior staff accountant guarantees the production of effective and reliable general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions in respected of the US GAAP and group IFRS rule. The candidate also contributes to the statutory account reporting activities within the required timeline.
The ideal candidate will need to possess excellent analytical skills, strong problem-solving skills, work ethic, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with others.

Job responsibilities:
  • Ensure an accurate and timely completion of one of the US entities monthly financial closing and reporting requirements;
  • Prepare accounting month-end closing adjustment entries and accrual entries;
  • Ensure accounting processes and procedures are in accordance with US GAAP & group IFRS rules;
  • Responsible for weekly bank statement reconciliation and monthly general ledger account reconciliations;
  • Manage company cash position daily and provide support for cash forecast;
  • Preparation of monthly intercompany reconciliation with domestic and international subsidiaries;
  • Support monthly trail balances uploads to internal consolidation tool Opera and record all flows for cashflow statement;
  • Management of Fixed assets accounting;
  • Management of various taxes reporting and filling: sales tax, fringe benefit tax, personal property tax, etc.;
  • Assist external auditors during the audit of statutory accounts and annual income tax fillings;
  • Assist and update methods, procedures and tools necessary to improve policies for the business designed by the N/A Controller;
  • Provide supports in monitoring internal control system to insure the protection of the units' assets and the security of financial flows and more particularly the control of cash out flows;
  • Work with the accounting department members to foster a culture of empowerment and continuous improvement.

Educational requirements:
  • BS in Accounting – CPA desired

Experience requirements:
  • Four or more years' experience

Skills, knowledge, and abilities:
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and standard ERP Products (SAP By Design experience is a plus)
  • Strong general accounting skills
  • Ability to prepare financial statements and provide financial analysis to management
  • Strong problem solving and investigative skills
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from management to accomplish objectives
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of the French Language is a plus
  • Report writing experience within standard ERP Products
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS is a plus
  • CPA Certification is a plus
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency
