Regulatory Compliance Engineer
This candidate should be a motivated and detail-oriented compliance engineer knowledgeable in the areas of international and domestic regulatory standards for electronic, mobile, and battery devices. This person should demonstrate an understanding of regulatory language, applying regulations to engineering designs, planning and managing regulatory testing, debugging issues, and maintaining regulatory documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Define and drive Client's products compliance strategies
  • Use knowledge of regulatory standards to guide early product designs that ultimately result in successful compliance testing
  • Establish best-practices for a solid foundation in compliant product designs. Guide and mentor engineering team to prevent compliance issues.
  • Research applicable regulatory standards and codes, review design data, and identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Manage formal compliance testing performed at external agencies and third-party test facilities; coordinate testing schedules to align with project timelines
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and fix test-failure points
  • Work with the manufacturing group to ensure compliance requirements are met throughout the production process
  • Organize and attend factory inspections performed by certifying agencies, as needed
  • Prepare standards applications; coordinate regulatory certifications for new products
  • Organize and maintain documentation for compliance, to include: certifications, test reports, RoHS information
  • Manage compliance standards throughout the product lifecycle to ensure products remain compliant as standards change
  • Stay current on the latest codes and standards by tracking changes, participating in education opportunities and professional organizations, and reading professional publications
  • May require occasional international travel
Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Five years or more of work experience in a manufacturing or hardware engineering work environment
  • Understanding of common electrical, mobile and battery regulations, both domestic and international
  • Able to debug electrical issues, including RF
  • Able to successfully work on multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; must be detail oriented and with high accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain positive external business relationships
  • Self-motivated, driven, and comfortable working independently
