Architect Under supervision of the Principal Architect, provide architectural planning and design services for various public work capital improvement projects on County facilities and prepares bi documents; provide technical architectural services related to building maintenance, remolding, building additions and new building construction for all County departments; assist with inspection of difficult or complex problems including layout, material testing and all activities and communications to ensure the project is completed in accordance with plans and specifications; performs special studies and investigations with comprehensive reports in the field of architectural design, space planning and structural design for existing and proposed facilities; prepares budget estimates for major maintenance and capital improvements; works with consultants to include serving on consultant selection committee, reviewing consultant plans and reports and attending project meetings and performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Through knowledge of theories, principles and practices of architecture and space planning with emphasis on public works architecture work associated with facilities; oral and communication skills skill in reading analyzing and interpreting business manuals, technical procedures, government regulations and interpreting scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents; problem solving skills; decision making skills; skill in collaborating with outside individuals and organization skills; multi-tasking skills; analytical skills with recommendations for action; ability to work in fast paced environment; ability to work independently; ability to lift or carry 50 pounds and ability to work effectively and harmoniously with others.

Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering Licenses/Certifications: Possession of a valid drivers license is required; Registration as a Professional Architect is required Wisconsin registration as a Professional Architect within six months of appointment ad maintained during incumbency required.
