Position Description HR Administrative Assistant 1. Responds to inquiries, and resolves questions utilizing knowledge of college policies and procedures. 2. Enrollment of employees into appropriate pension plan. 3. Assists with the maintenance of various web based recruitment sites. 4. Assists with the maintenance of employee benefit plans. 5. Works with confidential information and in doing so must maintain a high level of personal integrity and demonstrate the understanding of the importance of confidentiality. 6. Maintains accurate files, including comprehensive personnel files. 7. Prepares accurate correspondence, reports and records; provides general clerical support as needed. 8. Maintains a working knowledge of various federal and state requirements. 9. Provides information to external agencies regarding verification of employment and other data. 10. Acts as a liaison between the College and various organizations, examples include temporary employment agencies, insurance carriers, retirement program vendors, and advertising agencies. 11. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned which are appropriate to the position.
Skills Required • General knowledge of the functions of a Human Resources office and related federal and state requirements. • Knowledge of Colleague. • Excellent customer service, written, oral and interpersonal skills.
Skills Preferred
Experience Required • One year verifiable work experience in a Human Resources Department. • Experience working in a Human Resources area in higher education. • Experience working with a HRIS database and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel). • Experience working in ADP HR/Payroll System.
