Position Description Highly preferable that the candidate have some experience in formal procurement/public bidding procedures. Establish sources of supply and maintain file of sources of goods, services and/or establish qualified vendor lists. • Update and retain product information files, purchase order records and solicitation records • Provide departments with the following customer support: o Approval and processing of Purchase Orders and Change Orders o Recommend alternate procurements (i.e. emergency, sole source and competition impracticable) o Scope of Work, Specifications or Standards development o Co-operative purchasing networks o Bid documents o Review and evaluate responses to bids and proposals o Contract specifications o All purchases of goods, services, insurance and construction, consistent with the requirements and purposes of the Procurement Code. o Provide customer support to the vendor community with the following: o Establish a trusting relationship with the vendor community by promoting and enforcing open and fair competition among vendors to obtain the highest quality goods and services for the best price o Vendor registration and insurance coverages according to the city’s requirements o Work with the City Attorney’s office in reviewing bids and proposals
Skills Required Skills Required: • Typing, work in Microsoft Word products, • Professional written and verbal communication • Strong Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Skills Preferred Skills Preferred: • Moderate experience in budget or accounting • Microsoft Word products moderate to high skill level in Excel • Contract monitoring and/or contract management

Education Required Education Required: High School Diploma, 1-2 years’ college

Schedule: - hours that the assignment will have. Regular business hours-- Monday-Thursday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM scheduled hours may vary - City offices are open on a Monday through Thursday schedule.
