Position Description Under general supervision of the Lead Information Specialists and Information Specialists, supports records imaging needs and requirements. By following standard procedures is responsible for document scanning/indexing and performing quality control on complex imagen documents. Task may include preparation, scanning, processing, indexing, and performing quality control procedures. Under limited supervision, performs technical and/or specialized imaging functions utilizing specialized hardware equipment and specialized computer software (OnBase) in accordance with established practices and procedures; performs quality control and image preservation procedures; operates specialized scanners for imaging; communicates with Lead Information Specialists and Information Specialists regarding error messages and system malfunctions; maintains logs and records of work performed; and may assist in other project based assignments as necessary.
Skills Required • Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively. • Mechanical aptitude with ability to perform repetitive tasks in an efficient manner. • Intermediate PC hardware and software knowledge. • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment while handling multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. • Detail oriented with good organizational, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills. with a technical knowledge/background

Experience Required • Operation of computers and scanning equipment for scanning production. • Prepare documents for scanning (prepping) by removing staples and paper clips, taping rips, inserting and completing scan sheets • Load documents into scanner while maintaining order of input and output. Monitors scanning process and troubleshoot problems as necessary. • Perform quality checks by verifying electronic images on the screen and correcting any scanning malfunctions. Inspects master and scanner output against standard quality control criteria to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met. • Enters and verifies index information, proofreading for omissions and errors. Prepares final product for final quality control review performed by Information Specialists. • Responsible for cleaning and daily maintenance if scanner.

Education Required High School diploma and education or training in two years records management experience, preferably in a municipal government setting or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Additional Information Temporary staff needed to assist with microfilm conversion project. Typing Ability Full-time (9/80) schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
