Position Description
1. Develops effective communication tools, including materials and publications for internal distribution. 2. Works with the department head, project manager and senior communications specialist to monitor and evaluate program activities that develop communication information for appropriate target audiences. 3. Presents information to County departments. 4. Performs related work as required. 5. May be reassigned in emergency situations.. with financial background and financial technical communication
Skills Required
The ideal candidate would need to have: • Verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on written skills as this will be most of the job. • Financial background • Ability to communicate technical financial information into layman's terms to a wide variety of people Working knowledge of current English usage and various journalistic styles. Skill in developing materials to convey complex program information. Ability to compose press releases, newsletters, brochures and presentations. Ability to work effectively with other employees, agencies, and the public.
Skills Preferred

Ability to communicate technical financial information into layman's terms to a wide variety of people. Expert PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher and SharePoint skills listed in order of priority.
Experience Required
Microsoft Office - PowerPoint - Excel Two years professional experience in media, communications, journalism or public relations. Additional related education may count towards required experience.
Education Required
High School Diploma or GED
Education Preferred
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, marketing or related field.
